This year we decided to put Ahana in drama classes. Luckily we had Bangalore School of Speech & Drama holding summer classes near our place- That's my cue- Summer Theatre Workshop at BSSD. It was a 15 day course culminating into a Stage performance at ADA Rangamandira.
About 15 kids, all part of this play- The La-La- Rhapsody. 15 day rigorous practice for 2hrs. Ahana was given the role of the 3rd Fairy (chichi). The female fairies called Chichi's and the male fairies called Chachas. The moral of the play was "You are who you are". Ahana I know, really enjoyed this play and playing the part of fairy. Why?? coz she had to be dressed as one...with wings, pretty pink shoes and wand...which meant shopping again :-) 2 full days gone in search of the right dress for the play..thanks to some of my friends who had the patience to shop with me to look for the "right" pink dress.
On the D'day Ahana & I were dropped first to the venue at 9.00AM and then both her grannies were picked up with her bro and brought to the venue by her dad. By the end of the play Manju mama & Sujaya atte were also there to watch her on stage.
The confidence that my darling showed on stage was unbeatable!! Even the older kids who were performing with her were trying to remember their lines when some other child was talking....but Ahana was standing there with no fear. Everytime she is on stage she makes us proud. We are glad that Ahana has always been blessed with the presence of her elders for most the important events in her life till now.
The next day she & her brother left for Mlore to stay there for a month. Doddamma(grandma) had enrolled her for chess classes at Derik's Chess School. Again a 15 day course. She managed to win 2nd place in the chess competition which was held on the last day of the class. She was awarded with a certificate and a medal. Sandy mama...get ready, Ahana is ready to challenge you.
