Weave a Story

Yesterday was the first competition of the year for Om. "Weave a Story"- Instant story telling competition
Topic given to om was BEAUTIFUL and this is what he weaved :D..following is as told by him to me...
Once there was a girl who went to school. Her friends would tease her everyday and said she was not beautiful. So one day she got her hair cut and went to school next day. Her friends said she looked very beautiful and stopped teasing her.
Simple ain't it :-D.
Storyline for his age is not bad I think, atleast he made an attempt to give it a shot and spoke with no stage fear.

New year & achievements

A new year has begun..same school, different set of friends for both the kids as the classes get shuffled.
Ahana boohoooo'ed after returning from school, coz she was the only one from her section in this new class. Its a week now since the school reopened and she seems settled and happy with her friends and class teacher.

Last year Ahana managed to grab the all-rounder award for Class-5. We learnt from her class 5 teacher that she had all chances of winning the Best student of the Year award for Class 1-5, but had just missed it. Nevertheless, we are proud parents :-)

Just last week we also got to know that her painting which had been done for Nazariya Competition through her school had been shortlisted for display at Venkatappa Art Gallery. Appaji & I did a last minute run to see her art and glad we could make it. Got to know that there were 6000 children who had participated and 100 got shortlisted for display.

On the occasion of World Environment day she also participated in another painting competition organised by NPSEF.

There's a lot more to learn, and this is just a beginning. Hoping she achieves what she's looking for...

Ahana got 1st place. So proud. Wish I could get to see what she painted. Her painting will be sent to Prime Minister Modi's office for his viewing :)

Boatra...

Om has got the same teacher for 1st std as my girl had got. This teacher had happened to be one of my girls favourites and still remains. Teacher was happy to have Om also in the same class as hers..
Om after his first day at school came home and announced...amma my class teacher is Shipra ma'am...If Ship became a Boat then we would have called her Boatra ;-D
