Keyboard Written Exam- Grade 1

Ahana had taken up her Grade-1 Written exam for Keyboard via Trinity College London this year. The results are out and we got to know that she has secured 3rd rank in Karnataka State by securing 96%. Awaiting the formal certificate from the institute to reach us.

Now getting ready for Grade-2 Written exam to be held on November 7th and Initial Practical to be held between Oct-Nov.

8 Minute number game

It was Om's turn to give his best shot at 5th Karnataka State level UCMAS Abacus competition. 

The preparation which lasted for close to 3 weeks was tedious. He's a hard working little boy and never said no when I would ask him to pull out his 8 mins practice sheets at home. 
On the D-day, he had stomach uneasiness thinking of the competition. 
Couldnt imagine how both my kids would turn out so different :-) 
While baby is least bothered about the outcome, just decides to do what she knows best, this boy is always wanting to give his best and at the end of it wants to be on top. Nervousness & tension come along. 
Appaji & I both had to convince our little fellow that this is a test for his teacher and not for himself. A test to check how well the teacher has taught the kids. Nothing really worked until appaji said, don't worry fella, you will do better than your sister. 
Well, we dont want him to see his sis as a competition...rather would want it to work as inspiration. 
No more comparison is what we think.

Happy that he did put in his effort to pick up speed. Result is, he's ahead of his classmates when it comes to mathematics :-)
